We are a single point of contact for:
C&A was formed in May 1984 by John Anderson, Trevor Crisp and their wives, following fifteen years experience with other companies in the pumping industry. The company has expanded steadily over the past 25 years, from pump sales and repair in a small unit in Durham, to a wide range of mechanical and electrical services together with pump sales and repair, metal fabrication and health & safety consultancy and training, operating from our base located just off the A1 in Bowburn, just outside Durham City.
As of the 1st October 2008, ownership of C&A Pumps Ltd transferred to Seymour Civil Engineering Contractors Limited, part of Renew Holdings plc. The two companies have worked together for many years and this acquisition cements their relationship. It provides a very good fit with Seymour, both operationally and culturally, based on quality of service and developing long term relations with key clients. Seymour, based in Hartlepool, was founded in 1978 and is one of the leading civil engineering businesses in the north-east of England. It provides specialist environmental services including water infrastructure development and maintenance, flood alleviation and coastal protection, as well as urban renewal and other infrastructure services to customers in both the public and private sectors. Renew comprises a range of businesses trading under established and well-respected brand names. The group is organised into two business streams; Specialist Engineering with expertise in nuclear, land remediation and water, through its subsidiaries Shepley Engineers, VHE and Seymour; and Specialist Building incorporating retail, social housing, science & education and restoration and refurbishment through its subsidiaries Allenbuild, Britannia Construction, YJL Infrastructure and Walter Lilly.
