The company was formed in May 1984 by the Directors John Anderson, Trevor Crisp and their wives, following fifteen years experience with other companies in the pumping industry.
The company was based at a small unit in Durham before moving to our present modern factory located in Bowburn, just outside Durham City. Over the past twenty-five years the company has been very successful, it now employs sixty people and offers a wide range of mechanical and electrical services together with pump sales and repair.
The C&A Brand
Ospreys (Pandion haliaetus) are highly specialized raptors that prey upon fish. They are found throughout the world and regularly nest along lakes, rivers, and coastlines. Although they are relatively uncommon, they can be seen during the summer months soaring over the water searching for fish. Keen eyesight, sharp curved talons, and the ability to dive feet first into the water make the osprey an unusually efficient predator; biologists estimate that an osprey may be successful at catching fish in four out of five attempts. Ospreys have even been reported to have captured two fish in one dive.
C&A see our association with the Osprey in our strength and ability to successfully search for and win the majority of business we bid for and that we are able to maximise this success in taking orders for more than one product or service from each new customer. This, combined with the illustration of strength from such a powerful natural environmental image will take us into the next 25 years of C&A evolution.
