Battery Power
C&A Pumps Ltd is proud to have recently carried out a complete electrical installation - comprising internal building services and field cabling - for the Heugh Gun Battery, Hartlepool. This North-East visitor attraction boasts a unique history, having been the only coastal battery to have seen ship-to-shore combat during World War I and remaining in service throughout World War II and the following years, until the disbanding of the coastal artillery forces in 1956. Following extensive renovations in recent years, the exhibits at the site now tell the story of those who lost their lives when the area came under attack from the German navy in 1914 and recounts the day-to-day lives of the brave soldiers who manned the guns for almost a century.
