C&A keep Trincomalee on an even keel
C&A Pumps performed the replacement of the submersible pumps used to maintain the sailing ship HMS Trincomalee at the correct level in her berth at Hartlepool Historic Quay. This work became necessary after the original pumps failed following severe attack from the seawater in the dock.
Together with new controls and pipework, C&A Pumps installed ITT Flygt pumps fitted with sacrificial anodes in the main dock & berth. These pumps maintain the water at a constant level, ensuring the ship is accessible to visitors at all times, and that she will suffer no damage to her moorings. C&A now perform an annual service on the equipment to ensure its ongoing smooth operation. |
