Middlehaven project a gate success
C&A successfully tendered to carry out work on the Middlehaven lock gates—which are located in the shadow of Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium—to upgrade the existing sluice gates from electrical actuation to British Waterways’ preferred hydraulically-powered valves.
For the project to succeed, it required a detailed design for the replacement of the existing controls and the manufacture of the required hydraulic rams and pipe work. Thanks to our highly trained staff—who had to work within the tidal restrictions at the site—and careful planning we have been able to deliver the installation to meet the customer’s specification.
This project demonstrated C&A’s ability to undertake projects requiring a wide range of skills in hazardous locations; taking them from concept to completion, safely and efficiently.
